Position: CLASSIFIED - 5-Day, 6.75-hour Bus Driver - Route #27
Location: Glenville

Bus Driver – Route #27

CLASSIFIED – 5‑day, 6.75‑hour position.

Schedule

A.M. Shift: 5:45 AM to 9:30 AM – 3 hours 45 minutes.

P.M. Shift: 2:05 PM to 5:05 PM – 3 hours.

Total daily time: 6 hours 45 minutes.

Qualifications
  • Meet all requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and District Board of Education Policy.
  • Minimum of two years driving experience and be of legal driving age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physically qualified per rule 3301‑83‑07 of the Administrative Code.
  • Maintain a clean driver record: no more than six points in the last two years; no DUI convictions within last six years; no more than two serious traffic violations in last two years; no railroad crossing violations in last year.
  • School bus driver certification from O.D.E. and Logan‑Hocking School District.
  • Completion of pre‑service and in‑service training per rule 3301‑83‑10.
  • Physical capability to lift and manage preschool and special‑needs children as needed.
  • Participation in drug and alcohol testing per FMCSA regulations (49 C.F.R. 382).
  • Good attendance.
Reports To

Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Drive buses punctually on scheduled routes.
  • Drive on approved non‑routine/extracurricular trips as required.
  • Maintain a clean bus and conduct inspections per Ohio Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules.
  • Report bus defects and discipline incidents appropriately.
  • Load and discharge students at authorized stops; assist handicapped students.
  • Promote positive public relations.
  • Operate buses only for approved school functions.
  • Report accidents and complete required reports.
  • Request vehicle service at least two days before scheduled maintenance.
  • Transport authorized students to and from approved bus stops and routes.
  • Fuel vehicle per operational regulations; maintain at least half a tank after route.
  • Check bus condition and seats after each route.
  • Perform any other duties and regulations requested to expedite the transportation program.
  • Other duties as assigned by Transportation Supervisor.
