Job Description: The half day School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
Length of Employment: 200 Days
Currently Bus #2603
Qualifications- Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
- Passes the required physical examination
- Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
- Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
- Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
- Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training
- Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
- Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate
The half day School Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.
- Location and length of route(s) may vary, determined by Coordinator of Transportation, depending upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
Daily
Schedule:
- Pre-Trip – 15 minutes prior to pullout time (PM only)
- Pull Out Time (PM) – 2:15 - 4:45
- Post-Trip – 15 minutes
