Job Summary The Supply Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory and ensuring hospital departments are stocked with necessary medical, office, and operational supplies. This role manages requisitions, receives shipments, updates inventory records, prepares outgoing deliveries, and helps maintain an organized supply environment. The Supply Clerk plays an important role in supporting daily hospital operations and ensuring departments have the supplies they need to provide quality patient care.
Essential Functions Inventory and restock Emergency Department and Surgery Department supplies
Fill departmental requisition requests in a timely and accurate manner
Receive and process supply orders, shipments, and back-order reports
Prepare and process UPS and Federal Express shipments
Deliver incoming packages to the appropriate hospital departments
Maintain accurate inventory and ordering records
Place weekly supply orders and office supply orders as needed
Label, organize, and stock shelves throughout the supply areas
Answer supply-related calls and provide assistance to hospital departments
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous inventory, supply chain, warehouse, or healthcare support experience helpful but not required
Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn inventory systems
Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to safely lift, move, and stock supplies
Ability to operate Polaris or Gator vehicles for deliveries as needed
Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, and pulling. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques and perform repetitive arm and hand movements throughout the workday.
Work Environment Work is performed in a fast-paced healthcare setting with frequent movement throughout hospital departments. The Supply Clerk works closely with multiple departments to ensure supplies are available and operations continue efficiently.
