Candidate Requirements- Experience with inventory management and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); willingness to learn other programs.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and pass Physical Ability Test (PAT). Must possess state driver license; commercial CDL required if needed within 6 months of start.
- Contract workers may be asked to relocate temporarily or permanently within a specific territory.
- Some local travel may be required; client vehicles may be driven, MVR required.
- Steel‑toe boots required.
- Jeans (long pants) and T‑shirt (no inappropriate words or pictures, no cut‑off shirts) are permitted.
- All other PPE provided; eyeglass side shields required if glasses worn (client does not provide side shields).
Zero Harm is the client’s #1 goal. Safety is a top priority. The role involves inventory control, receiving materials, moving material, and operating equipment in indoor and outdoor environments.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks- Assists the Material Services organization with material accountability, storeroom and yard operations.
- Issues material under proper authorization, processes and files required records, hauls and delivers materials, operates company automotive equipment.
- Checks received material for quantity and condition; initiates and processes material receipt records.
- Reports irregularities and abnormal conditions.
- Sorts and records returned material, places usable material in stock, and directs non‑usable material to scrap containers.
- Operates computer terminals and printers supporting a materials management system, and other office equipment such as calculators and scanners.
- Prepares and packs material for shipment or storage, including required shipping papers; handles hazardous materials (gasoline, oil, oil‑containing PCB, lead‑acid batteries) per safety and environmental procedures.
- Operates material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low‑lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, order pickers, and other equipment as required.
- Assists supervisor with efficient storage of materials, rearrangement of bins and racks, and material location changes.
- Maintains inventory levels through cycle counts; performs discrepancy adjustments with approval and processes all records.
- Performs duties in accordance with company safety rules, operating regulations, and practices.
- Magni/Merlo Telehandler – operate 23‑35K lbs of material.
- JLG Telehandler – operate 7K‑15K lbs of material.
- Strong, bulky, awkwardly shaped and long materials handled.
- Heavy equipment operation experience preferred; construction experience helpful.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience:
Minimum one year in inventory control, material handling, warehousing, or related fields. Basic computer skills with inventory management software (e.g., Maximo), Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
Skills:
Strong logistics knowledge for shipping and relocating inventory; basic math; independent worker with good communication.
Physical:
Safely lift up to 70 lbs; successful PAT; appropriate state driver license; CDL if required within 6 months.
