Operations Manager

Overview

U.S. LUMBER an SBP Brand is currently hiring for an Operations Manager in our Amma, WV branch. In this role you will focus on overall management of personnel, equipment, property and inventory of the facility. Developing and maintaining a teamwork oriented environment, preserving employee morale, and providing a safe work environment.

• Recruiting, supervising, developing, and cross-training employees on an ongoing basis. Managing work schedules and overtime and approving weekly timecards.
• Develop and maintain a teamwork oriented environment while preserving employee morale and providing a safe and efficient work environment.
• Monitoring employee productivity, conducting documented employee reviews and constructively disciplining and documenting unsatisfactory employee performance and/or inappropriate conduct.
• Ensuring that all material is received, stored, pulled and loaded safely and accurately.
• Interacting with Human Resources on the status of injured employees and restricted duty.
• Understanding and compliance with OSHA standards and requirements.
• Maintaining and upholding the fire prevention program.
• Other duties as requested and assigned by management.

• A bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
• Three to five years of distribution warehouse management experience with P&L responsibility.
• Three to five years of sit down forklift operation (not electric box trucks).
• Lumber industry warehouse experience is preferred.
• Employee coaching & development and excellent team-building skills.
