Rhode Island (On-site)
An innovative clean energy technology company is seeking a Senior Power Electronics & Energy Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development and commercialisation of a next-generation electrochemical power generation platform.
This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that converts high-current DC power into commercially usable energy solutions, helping bridge the gap between advanced electrochemical systems and real-world power applications.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of the electrical power architecture surrounding a novel energy generation technology, focusing on the management, conditioning and conversion of electrical power from source through to end-use applications.
Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll lead efforts related to power conversion, energy management and electrical system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise electrical power architectures for advanced energy systems.
- Manage high-current, low-voltage DC power distribution and conversion.
- Specify and integrate DC/DC converters, power management systems and DC/AC inverter solutions.
- Support the transition from prototype to commercial-scale deployment.
- Define electrical system requirements and performance metrics.
- Work closely with mechanical, systems and scientific teams to ensure successful product integration.
- Support testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Help evaluate power solutions for applications ranging from industrial facilities to data centre environments.
Ideal Background
We're interested in engineers with experience in one or more of the following:
- Fuel Cells
- Electrolysers
- Renewable Energy
- Power Generation
- EV Charging Infrastructure
Desired Experience
- Strong understanding of power conversion and power management systems.
- Experience with DC/DC converters and inverter technologies.
- Background working with high-current electrical systems.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution, protection and power quality concepts.
- Experience taking technologies from development through commercial deployment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.
