The Trauma Response Team (TRT) is a specialized unit within the Rhode Island Behavioral Health Medical Reserve Corps (RIBHMRC), a RI-based 501c3. Our mission is to provide behavioral health and crisis response support to communities, first responders, and partner agencies across Rhode Island. The TRT is available 24/7 for crisis response, deploying to critical incidents, public health emergencies, and community events to provide trauma‑informed interventions and support.
We are seeking a Clinical Coordinator to provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to our team of volunteer clinicians and responders. This is a part‑time position (10–20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling—ideal for a licensed behavioral health professional passionate about crisis response, community resilience, and volunteer engagement.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Trauma Response Team.
- Serve as the primary clinical advisor for crisis response missions and training initiatives.
- Respond on‑scene to critical incidents and emergencies to provide clinical leadership, oversight, and direct support as needed (some in‑field flexibility required given 24/7 availability).
- Act as a triage mechanism for community partners seeking behavioral health crisis support, determining the most appropriate response or referral pathway.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive list of referral resources to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate closely with the TRT Director to:
- Recruit and onboard new volunteers.
- Develop/refine policies, procedures, and deployment protocols.
- Create and implement training opportunities for volunteers.
- Oversee and support volunteer clinicians, ensuring quality standards of care and appropriate scope of practice.
- Be available for consultation during deployments and provide clinical leadership as needed.
Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing, or related behavioral health field.
Current Rhode Island licensure (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, APRN, or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, including crisis intervention/trauma response.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Flexibility to respond in the field as crisis situations arise (TRT operates 24/7).
Preferred Experience with critical incident stress management, disaster behavioral health, or peer support programs.
Experience working with first responders, veterans, or community crisis programs.
Prior involvement in MRC, emergency management, or disaster response organizations.
Work EnvironmentFlexible hybrid work model: ability to complete administrative and planning duties from home or from our centralized office in West Warwick, RI. In‑person presence is required for certain trainings, meetings, and emergency responses.
CompensationFull TIme 32-40 hours per week (flexible). Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
