Position: Living Donor Outreach Specialist

SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Transplant Administrator, the Living Donor Outreach Specialist serves as the primary community-facing representative for the Living Donor Program. This role is responsible for expanding awareness of living kidney donation, increasing referral volume, and strengthening relationships with community partners, patients, and referring providers. The role also supports donor engagement and navigation throughout the evaluation process, ensuring a responsive, informed, and patient-centered experience from initial inquiry through donation.

PRINCIPAL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Community Outreach & Program Growth
  • Conduct outreach to increase awareness of living kidney donation.
  • Deliver presentations to community groups, dialysis centers, patients, and providers.
  • Represent the program at health fairs and outreach events.
  • Build and maintain referral networks and partnerships.
  • Support marketing and digital outreach efforts.
  • Promote donor advocacy and engagement initiatives.
  • Identify barriers and opportunities to improve donation access.
Donor Engagement & Navigation
  • Support donor follow-up and communication throughout the evaluation process.
  • Assist with donor education materials (in-person, virtual, off-site).
  • Guide donors through evaluation appointments and clinic flow.
  • Ensure a supportive and patient-centered donor experience.
Coordination, Scheduling & Administration
  • Manage referrals and maintain donor tracking systems.
  • Schedule evaluations, follow-ups, and testing (CT, GTT, ABPM, fast-track, same-day visits).
  • Obtain and organize medical records (PMH) and donor documentation.
  • Prepare charts, packets, binders, and pre-op materials.
  • Track labs, cross matches (XMs), and required testing completion.

    Maintain donor databases (Excel or similar systems).
  • Support committee meetings, documentation, billing tasks, and correspondence.
Data, Quality & Program Support
  • Track referrals, outreach activity, and conversion metrics.
  • Support quality improvement and program development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and donor tracking systems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, communications, public health, or related field preferred.

  • 2–4 years of experience in healthcare coordination, outreach, or patient engagement preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, and people skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage both field outreach and administrative responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Pay Range

$50,523.20-$83,345.60
