Director of Product Operations and Inventory Planning

Natco Home, a leader in the rug and home décor industry, seeks a Director of Product Operations and Inventory Planning to oversee product lifecycle management, inventory planning, and purchasing execution under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. The position is based at our West Warwick, RI corporate headquarters and leads a team of Product Account Managers and Inventory/Purchasing Specialists to ensure accurate product setup, strong supplier communication, precise purchase order execution, and effective replenishment.

The role partners closely with Sales, Logistics, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to maintain product and costing accuracy, support customer service goals, and ensure goods move smoothly through production to transit.

What you’ll do
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for procurement, inventory planning, purchasing, and product account management
  • Manage supplier performance and relationships across domestic and international partners, ensuring alignment of lead times, capacity, quality, and purchase order accuracy
  • Own, document, and continuously improve SOPs related to product set‑up, purchase order execution, replenishment workflows, and supplier communication
  • Oversee end‑to‑end purchase order execution and replenishment, from forecasting inputs and ERP planning parameters through production tracking and goods‑in‑transit
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Product Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance teams to support customer programs, forecasts, promotions, and smooth handoff to shipment
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of item masters, product specifications, costing, and system data throughout the product lifecycle
  • Monitor supplier quality and compliance while driving continuous improvement, cost efficiencies, SKU rationalization, and reduction of slow‑moving or obsolete inventory
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for inventory, production, or supplier‑related execution challenges
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects as directed by the Chief Operating Officer
What you’ll have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within rugs, textiles, or soft goods preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience supporting large national retailers and mass merchants strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with manufacturing materials and packaging components preferred
  • Proven experience managing domestic and overseas supplier relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of replenishment planning, supplier communication, and purchase order execution
  • Solid understanding of costing and forecasting principles to support operational decision‑making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated experience working within ERP/MRP systems to support purchase order execution, inventory planning, and item setup accuracy
