Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Westborough, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who excels in financial accuracy and enjoys tackling reconciliations and other accounting assignments. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions within a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

- Post journal entries and ensure proper documentation for accounting transactions.

- Oversee sales tax filings and maintain compliance with state and local regulations.

- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.

- Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and other financial reviews.

- Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting procedures and controls.

- Work on special accounting projects as assigned to support organizational goals. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing processes.

- Proficiency in handling general ledger accounts and account reconciliations.

- Expertise in posting journal entries and managing accounting records.

- Familiarity with corporate tax returns and financial reporting standards.

- Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
