Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a growing organization in Westborough, Massachusetts through a Contract assignment. This role will contribute to core accounting operations by managing close activities, maintaining ledger accuracy, and resolving account variances. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, works effectively with deadlines, and can adapt to evolving business priorities while handling special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee assigned month-end close activities, ensuring financial records are updated accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post journal entries that support complete and reliable general ledger activity.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet and bank accounts, identifying discrepancies and driving timely resolution.
• Review general ledger transactions to confirm proper classification, completeness, and consistency with accounting standards.
• Support the preparation of financial schedules and other documentation required during the close process.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to research accounting issues, answer questions, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting assignments and special projects based on departmental needs.
