On-call Substitute School Nurse
Reports to:
School Principal and Nurse Leader
Compensation: $170 per day, $85 per half-day

Job Goal:
The School Nurse manages and coordinates health services for students within the school setting, while interacting with their educational goals, personal health, and public health needs. Responsibilities include nursing services, collaboration, health education, and community health and emergency planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Professional Certification
Required:
* Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts (M.G.L. c.71, s.53)
* Current CPR certification/AED training from a recognized provider (such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association) (required)
* Specialized Knowledge: pediatric nursing, child development, cultural proficiency, social-emotional learning, anti-bias training
* Preferred Experience:
* Experience in Pediatric nursing
* Experience as a nurse in a diverse public school setting and working with English Language Learners
* Experience with students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
* Highly desirable to have experience with:
* SNAP software
* Power School software
* Google applications (gmail, docs, spreadsheets, etc.)
* Skills:
* Ability to create a welcoming, supportive, and equitable environment
* Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory with a demonstrated commitment to remain current in content knowledge and best practices for school nurses
* Ability to partner and collaborate with school staff, department colleagues, and administrators
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
* Candidates should have a passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
* Candidates should have a commitment to the education and care of all students
* CORI and Fingerprinting:
All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
