Position: Interim Student Services Coordinator - Grades K-3 (5934)

Westborough Public Schools seeks a dynamic and experienced Interim Student Services Coordinator to join our caring staff at Fales Elementary School (K‑3).

2‑3 days per week

Effective Immediately through April 30th

Job Title: Student Services Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Student Services and Building Principal

Department: Student Services

School year and days: Part‑time per diem

FLSA Status: Per diem rate

The Student Services Coordinator has proven experience and a passion for special education, communication, and student learning, engagement, and growth in the least restrictive environment (LRE). Key components of this position include the ability to establish positive, strong relationships with all stakeholders, foster student independence, and to support staff in accomplishing District and building initiatives in accordance with the Westborough Public Schools Strategic Plan Westborough High School School Improvement Plan.

Knowledge of IDEA regulations and the IEP TEAM process and sound management of complex and potentially litigious matters are key components of this job. Special Education Administrators license preferred. In addition to direct supervision responsibilities with the Westborough High School administrative team and special education staff, the Student Services Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the School Counseling Department, which is composed of 6 Guidance Counselors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
  • Professional Certification: MA DESE licensure in Special Education Administration
  • CORI and Fingerprinting: All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of IEP process and of special education regulations, child development, curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti‑bias instruction, co‑teaching, social‑emotional learning, technology integration.

Preferred Experience:

  • Direct teaching experience, programmatic oversight, as well as facilitating teaching and learning, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
  • Highly desirable to have experience with:
    • Differentiating instruction via Universal Design Learning (UDL) practices
    • Principles of Inclusion and modeling Inclusive Practices
    • Facilitating and overseeing Co‑Taught and supported classrooms
    • Specialized programming
    • Well versed in technology:
      Google platform
    • Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support
    • Special Education IDEA regulations, IEPs, and BSEA Hearing and litigation process
    • Social/Emotional Learning and Mental Health systems of support
    • Supervision and Evaluation

Skills:

  • Oversees the development and implementation of modified and alternate instruction
  • Applies knowledge of current research and theory to instructional design
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
