Job DescriptionThe Westborough Public Schools seek a talented Math and Business Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. This one‑year position requires teaching five courses:
Algebra II (two sections), Personal Finance, Marketing, and Financial Investing.
The Math Teacher fosters a love of learning that encourages curiosity, engagement, and growth. The high‑school math program follows the DESE grade‑level curriculum standards and utilizes resources such as Open Up Resources, Impact Series textbooks, and teacher‑created materials.
Qualifications- Education:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
- Professional Certification
Required:- MA DESE license in 9‑12 Mathematics
- SEI Endorsement
- Additional certification in special education and/or ESL highly desirable
- AP Certification preferred

- Experience teaching English Language Learners in a diverse public school setting

- Strong background in math instruction
- Demonstrated skills in integrating technology (Google Suite for Education, Kahoot, Desmos, Gizmo, Geo Gebra, Geometry Sketchpad, etc.)
- Highly desirable: experience with Co‑Teaching, Guided Math Workshop model, technology integration
- Plan and implement differentiated lessons and formative assessments tailored to student needs
- Apply current research and theory to instructional design with a commitment to staying current in content knowledge
- Collaborate with team teachers, department colleagues, and specialists
- Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
- Build relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Integrate technology to enhance student learning experiences - Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues and belief in a growth mindset
- Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment that embraces diversity and ensures equitable opportunities
- Provide learning experiences across subject areas as guided by MA Curriculum Frameworks and district standards
- Monitor student understanding, adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments as needed
- Evaluate instructional practice and assessment strategies to increase student learning, engagement, and confidence
- Participate in professional development activities and meet district licensure recertification expectations
- Participate in faculty and committee meetings, and district‑wide committees as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned
The Math Teacher does not have supervisory responsibilities for other staff, except to direct any paraleaguists (para educators) who may be assigned to his/her classroom.
Salary and BenefitsSalary, benefits, and responsibilities are per contract between the Westborough School Committee and the Westborough Education Association.
