Job Description

The Westborough Public Schools seek a dynamic 5th Grade 4th Grade Teacher to join our caring staff at Mill Pond School starting in the  school year. JOB GOAL

The Fifth Grade Teacher fosters a love of learning that encourages student curiosity, engagement, and growth in a welcoming community of learners. The teacher provides learning experiences that engage students in language arts, math, science/technology/engineering, social studies, and social‑emotional learning guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
  • Professional Certification: MA DESE license in Elementary Education; SEI Endorsement
    • Additional certification in special education and/or ESL highly desirable
  • Specialized Knowledge: child development, curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti-bias instruction, co‑teaching, social‑emotional learning, technology integration
  • CORI, SORI and Fingerprinting: All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI, SORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
Preferred Experience
  • Teaching English Language Learners in a diverse public school setting
  • Working with students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
  • Strong background in literacy and math instruction, along with science and social studies instruction
  • Highly desirable to have experience with:
