Long-Term Substitute Assistant Principal
The Westborough Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Assistant Principal to join our administrative team at Westborough High School to start the school year August 17th through December 23rd, 2026.

JOB SUMMARY:
The High School Assistant Principal uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to assist the principal in promoting and advancing the education of all students. This includes such responsibilities as: working directly with students to meet their needs and support their development; leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff;
and fostering collaboration between teachers and among staff and parents.

Term: approximately 4 months, 8/17 through 12/23 (August-December)
Compensation:
Administrator Salary Scale (10-month administrator scale, prorated for reduced year)
FLSA Status:
Exempt, non benefited
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active DESE license in Principal/Assistant Principal grades 9-12
- SEI Endorsement for Administrators
- Possession of leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate others to meet high standards of performance
EDUCATION:
Master's degree from an accredited college/university, in a related field preferred
HIRING REQUIREMENT:
- Successful completion of CORI, SORI and fingerprinting
- Experience working as a teacher for at least 5 years
- Experience leading a school-based group or initiative
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience as a school administrator
- Working in a diverse public school setting with English Language Learners
- Working with special education students with a wide range of academic, social and emotional needs
PERFORMANCE DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Student Supervision:
- Monitoring and interacting with students and their families regarding academic, social, and emotional issues
- Developing and administering policies on student behavior and assisting teachers with discipline
- Participating in the team evaluation process
- Supervising student activity programs, field trips, and other school activities as necessary
Staff Supervision:
- Supervising, directing, and evaluating staff members in tandem with the Principal and district coordinators
- Planning and facilitating staff development activities
- Participating with staff in problem-solving school issues
- Coordinating substitute coverage
Administration:
- Assisting in the preparation of student schedules
- Interpreting and enforcing district and school policies
- Overseeing the development and administration of the school safety plan
