Job Description
The Westborough Public Schools seek a talented .8 Math Teacher to join our math department at the Westborough High School for the school year. One‑year teaching position, teaching 4 classes per day.
The Westborough Public Schools are an innovative, supportive, and high‑performing district whose stellar staff provides high quality services for our diverse students and their families. We educate approximately 4,000 students from Pre‑K through age 22 from homes that speak almost 30 different languages, with a student population approximately 54% students of color and 46% white students. Job GoalThe Math Teacher fosters a love of learning that encourages student curiosity, engagement, and growth in a welcoming community of learners. This position will include three levels of High School Math:
Honors Calculus, Algebra 1, and Numerical Geometry. Our high school math program follows the DESE grade‑level curriculum standards and utilizes a variety of resources as instructional material, including Open Up Resources, Impact Series textbooks, and a wealth of teacher‑created resources.
- Education:
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. - Professional Certification
Required:- MA DESE license in 9‑12 Mathematics
- SEI Endorsement
- Additional certification in special education and/or ESL highly desirable
- AP Certification preferred
- Specialized Knowledge: child development, curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti‑bias instruction, co‑teaching, social‑emotional learning, technology integration
- Cori, Sori and Fingerprinting:
All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI, SORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00. - Preferred Experience:
- Experience teaching English Language learners and in a diverse public school setting
- Experience with students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
- Strong background in math instruction
- Demonstrated skills in effectively and appropriately integrating technology into lesson design (e.g., Google Suite for Education, Kahoot, Desmos, Gizmo, Geo Gebra, geometry sketchpad, etc.)
- Highly desirable to have experience with:

- Plan and implement differentiated lessons and ongoing formative assessment based on district objectives and the abilities, needs, and interests of students assigned.
- Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional design with a demonstrated commitment to remain current in content knowledge.
- Partner and collaborate with team teachers, department colleagues, and specialists.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Integrate technology in order to enhance and extend student learning experiences.
- Have a passion for working with students, families, and colleagues and demonstrate a belief in a growth mindset for students as well as for self.
- Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment that embraces the diversity among individuals and ensures equitable opportunities for student learning.
- Provide learning experiences across all subject areas as guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements.
