Overview

Campos is seeking a dynamic Senior Director of Electrical Engineering to lead and elevate our Electrical Engineering (EE) organization across all regions. This is a high‑impact leadership role responsible for setting the technical vision, developing top engineering talent, and partnering closely with senior leadership to drive project excellence and business growth.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a team of Discipline Engineering Directors and Managers, providing mentorship, coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire high‑performing engineering leaders.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define and implement the long‑term training and development strategy for the EE organization.
  • Build and execute a team growth plan that identifies skills gaps, strengthens technical depth, and supports company expansion.
Technical Excellence & Oversight
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the EE team as they expand subject matter expertise across multiple markets.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and, when needed, act as Engineer of Record for key projects (multiple state PE registrations may be required).
  • Drive high‑quality engineering design execution, including:
    • Concept designs and alternatives.
    • Engineering calculations and system analysis.
    • Resource planning and project estimates.
  • Ensure engineers are qualified, trained, and aligned to support projects, proposals, field execution, and client needs.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with Utilities and Oil & Gas industry codes and standards.
  • Provide expertise in:
    • Power system protection and relaying.
    • Electrical distribution systems.
    • Electrical system modeling and study validation.
    • Major electrical equipment specifications.
    • Instrument datasheets, PLC/DCS panel specifications.
Cross‑Functional & Client Collaboration
  • Partner with regional leadership to ensure delivery teams receive the right level of technical engineering support.
  • Support the QC team with technical reviews, SME resourcing, and industry standard updates.
  • Serve as a trusted technical point of contact for clients, supporting both technical and project‑related communications.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships while identifying new opportunities within current portfolios.
Business Development & Strategic Initiatives
  • Review and approve proposals, cost estimates, and staffing plans for upcoming projects.
  • Assign technical resources to support proposal development across regions.
  • Monitor industry trends, technology advancements, and market cycles to guide business development efforts.
  • Help expand new client relationships and support growth of new work streams.
Process & Operational Improvements
  • Recommend and implement tools, processes, and technologies that enhance engineering quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Support company‑wide initiatives to improve engineering workflows and resource utilization.
  • Ensure organizational alignment on best practices, standards, and engineering methodologies.
Additional Details
  • Occasional travel to CEPC and client offices required.
  • A certain level of billability is expected.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience
    , with at least 5 years in engineering leadership or management
    .
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Strong background in construction, field engineering, and cross‑discipline collaboration.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Deep, broad understanding of electrical engineering principles, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
