Position OverviewThe Program Manager will manage engineering product/system development program initiatives, and as a result the ideal Program Manager will have a proven ability to strategize and implement such program initiatives. In case gaps exist in the program development process, the Program Manager should create the process. As a leader, this person should have strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Ultimately the Program Manager should be motivated by a desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives.
- Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timeline.
- Ensure program goals, especially budget and timelines are met.
- Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks. Identify ways to mitigate risks.
- Produce program reports and deliver presentations to the involved teams and stakeholders such as management.
- Oversee and coordinate with multiple project teams including those in Korea to ensure program goals are reached. These teams will be in engineering, product management, supply chain and quality.
- Since the focus is on engineering product/system development, for the above mentioned responsibilities, the Program Manager must understand at a high level the technical objectives, status, results and risks.
- Ten or more years of experience in program management
- Five or more years of experience in program management delivering engineering products/systems/SW
- Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization
- Experience in managing stakeholders
- Ability to solve problems and resolve issues amicably
- Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive experience in Microsoft project or equivalent.
- Strong understanding/exeprience of engineering principles with a focus on energy (e.g. fuel cells, batteries, PV, wind, nuclear) or power systems (e.g. power grid, power electronics).
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience. Preference is for those with degrees in engineering (or equivalent).
- 10-15% travel including internationally (e.g. Korea).
- Position can be remote but preference is for onsite a minimum of 3 days a week.
