The Senior Engineer will participate in planning, development, scheduling and performance of engineering assignments related to clean technologies and pipeline safety regulations across CT, MA, and federally.
Responsibilities- Work with geothermal technology, support operations & maintenance procedures, develop data processing methodologies, investigate equipment failures, and analyze system disturbances with stakeholders.
- Support rollout of new and revised regulations in MA and CT, analyze impacts, and develop implementation plans.
- Aid in day-to-day tasks of the Policy & Compliance team.
- Apply engineering practices as directed by the Manager, Policy & Compliance.
- Assume supervisory on‑call assignments when required.
- Understand fundamentals of Networked Geothermal operations.
- Develop and maintain company standards to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and codes.
- Coordinate resources for processes or projects.
- Monitor regulatory updates, communicate changes, and proactively respond to evolving requirements.
- Track industry best practices and emerging trends, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead implementation of new compliance initiatives arising from gas regulations.
- Provide details to training organizations for regulatory adherence.
- Collaborate with finance and investment planning groups to determine capital and O&M costs to the GBU.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
- Deliver superior customer service, internal and external, in a reliable and timely manner.
- Develop positive working relationships and coordinate work activities.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Mentor junior staff, review their work, and provide direction to promote standardization and success.
- Assist in gas distribution system restoration during emergencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum five (5) years of related engineering experience.
- Gas experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of applicable governmental codes and regulations and ability to interpret them.
- Knowledge of welding and fusing principles.
- Working knowledge of environmental requirements affecting related activities.
- Familiarity with MS Office.
Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required.
Must be available to travel between MA / CT / NH as necessary.
This position is categorized as safety‑sensitive for the purpose of drug testing, including pre‑assignment and random testing.
