Adecco is hiring on behalf of a growing, advanced manufacturing organization seeking a
** Strategic Account Engineer / Technical Sales Lead
** to support a key customer in the Boston area. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role focused on driving account growth, identifying new opportunities, and supporting technical program execution within robotics and automation manufacturing.
** Job Summary*
* This role serves as the primary on-site partner to a strategic customer, working closely with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to identify upcoming needs, influence sourcing decisions, and convert opportunities into awarded business. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong business development skills and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Account Growth & Business Development*
* + Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders across engineering, operations, and procurement
+ Identify and develop new business opportunities related to robotics, automation systems, and mechanical assemblies
+ Gain early visibility into upcoming programs and position solutions prior to formal RFQs
+ Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and support conversion to awarded business
** Technical Sales & Customer Engagement*
* + Lead technical discussions by reviewing drawings, CAD models, and prototypes to identify manufacturing solutions
+ Partner with internal teams to support quoting, pricing strategy, and proposal development
+ Recommend design-for-manufacturing improvements to enhance cost, quality, and efficiency
+ Follow up on quotes, engineering changes, and open opportunities to drive closure
** Program Execution Support*
* + Act as the liaison between the customer and internal teams across multiple locations
+ Support programs from prototype through production launch
+ Coordinate engineering changes, design updates, and production readiness activities
+ Help resolve technical and commercial issues impacting delivery or quality
** Customer Insight & Strategic Alignment*
* + Monitor customer initiatives, product development, and deployment plans
+ Identify gaps, pain points, and supply chain opportunities
+ Communicate insights to internal leadership to inform strategy and growth initiatives
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
+ 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (technical sales, applications engineering, program management, or similar)
+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications
+
Experience with Solid Works required
+ Proven ability to build relationships and drive business growth within strategic accounts
+ Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
+ Ability to work independently in a field-based role
** Preferred Experience*
* + Experience supporting robotics, automation, logistics, or industrial technology customers
+ Background in prototype-to-production environments
+ Experience working with large, complex customer organizations
+ Familiarity with manufacturing program launches and production ramp-up
** Work Environment & Travel*
* + Must be based in or near Boston, MA
+ Regular travel to customer sites required
+ Occasional travel to additional company and customer locations
