LGES Vertech is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) industry to ensure all materials, components, and manufacturing processes from external vendors meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards. This role will have an emphasis on Medium Voltage Transformers (MVTs), and is vital for maintaining product integrity and ensuring regulatory compliance in a rapidly growing sector.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Audits and Assessments:
Plan and conduct audits and assessments of potential and existing suppliers and their manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards like ISO 9001 and specific BESS industry frameworks (e.g., UL 9540/9540A, IEC standards). - Quality Plan Development:
Develop and implement supplier quality management plans, quality control plans, and programs for incoming materials and components. - Issue Resolution & Corrective Actions:
Collaborate with suppliers and internal cross‑functional teams (engineering, procurement, production) to identify, log, track, and resolve non‑conformances (NCRs) and quality issues. Drive timely root cause analysis (RCA) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with vendors. - Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain complete and traceable quality records, inspection reports, and closeout documentation. Manage the supplier database, including performance records and certifications. - Testing and Qualification Support:
Participate in and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), In‑Process Monitoring (IPM), and Pre‑Shipment Inspections (PSI) for key BESS components (modules/packs, racking, containerized systems, inverters, switch gear). - Continuous Improvement:
Monitor and report on supplier quality performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and data analysis to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Educate and facilitate the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools with suppliers where needed. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure suppliers adhere to all applicable local and international regulatory, safety (e.g., fire safety), and compliance requirements. - New Product Introduction Support:
Work with the engineering and supply chain teams to support new product launches, qualify new parts, and ensure that quality is "engineered" into the product design from the concept phase. - Technical Support and Liaison:
Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external suppliers, providing technical guidance on quality‑related matters and helping to define clear responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education:
