About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring products leave the manufacturing facility in a fully tested and validated state. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of test, process, controls, and design engineers, you will design and execute projects that test product subassemblies and top‐level assemblies through both manual and automated methods.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to define design requirements for test equipment development, fabrication, and implementation.
- Demonstrate strong engineering practices through thorough analysis, documentation, and design reviews.
- Utilize Solid Works for mechanical design and development.
- Execute projects from concept through production, including requirements definition, prototyping, testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Validate concepts through engineering calculations, modeling, and prototype testing.
- Perform static and dynamic mechanical analyses using FEA tools (ANSYS or Solid Works Simulation) and hand calculations.
- Design mechanical subsystems integrated with industrial automation components such as motors, actuators, sensors, and safety systems.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including:
- Requirements
- Functional specifications
- Drawings
- Validation plans and reports
- Preventative maintenance procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Solid Works.
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods.
- Experience working with a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
- Experience with Solid Works PDM.
- Ability to commute to both North Reading, MA and Westborough, MA five days per week.
- Strong organizational and project planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of electromechanical systems and control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and collaborate with electrical, controls, and test engineers to identify mechanical root causes.
- Experience with Oracle Agile PLM or similar PLM platforms.
Westborough, MA, Onsite (5 Days)
Salary Range:The salary for this position is between $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
