Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Westborough, Massachusetts (Onsite)
Compensation: $41 - $51 hourly
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a Test Engineering team supporting robotics and automation hardware testing. The role involves extensive travel (75% of the time) across North America to support hardware functionality testing, test plan execution, and quality validation of robotic and automation systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities- Create and execute test plans for scenarios involving electromechanical components and systems.
- Develop test cases for hardware functional requirements, down to the component level.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures.
- Conduct hands‑on hardware functionality testing of robotic and automation systems, sensors, and actuators.
- Perform troubleshooting and isolate bugs to assist engineers with root‑cause analysis.
- Document test results, defects, and non‑conformance reports with technical precision.
- Develop simple test tools and scripts to reduce manual testing effort.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers, Hardware Development Engineers, and site operations teams.
- Travel extensively across North America for on‑site testing and to support hardware deployments.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechatronics is required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Experience: 2–3 years of professional QA/testing experience. Experience testing electromechanical systems, robotics, automation equipment, or industrial machinery is necessary.
Technical
Skills:
Hands‑on experience testing electromechanical systems; basic knowledge of test planning, test case design, defect tracking, and scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB. Experience with diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes, and ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience with robotics systems, packaging, or sortation automation.
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) or Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) experience.
- Experience working in manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance testing (OSHA, ANSI).
- Field service experience across multiple sites.
