Test Engineer/Quality Assurance Engineer
We are seeking a Test Engineer/Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team supporting robotics and automation hardware (mechanical) testing across North America. This role will be based out of Westborough with travel to support hardware functionality testing, test plan execution, and quality validation of robotic and automation systems at scale.
Core Testing Competencies- 4+ years of QA/Test Engineering experience in hardware (mechanical) or electro-mechanical systems
- Test case development and execution for Design Verification Testing (DVT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Hardware verification and validation experience across product development lifecycle (Concept → Alpha → Beta → Production)
- Proven ability to create and optimize test plans for difficult test scenarios involving multiple components, features, or engineering teams
- Experience with functional system-level (L1) verification and component/subsystem-level testing
- Strong root cause analysis and defect triage capabilities
- Experience creating reusable, reliable, and maintainable automated test solutions
- Ability to optimize test plans and automation for efficiency (hardware resources and execution time)
- Understanding of test methodologies (functional, integration, system, performance, reliability)
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and automation hardware
- Experience with lab infrastructure management and test environment setup
- Strong technical documentation skills - test plans, test cases, test reports, defect tracking
- Experience with requirements traceability and verification coverage
- Knowledge of quality metrics and data-driven decision making
- Ability to clearly document work for future testers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to work with hardware engineers, software engineers, controls engineers, and operations teams
- Comfortable working autonomously with limited guidance in ambiguous environments
- Able to make trade-offs between time available vs. test solution extent
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with automation or robotic systems testing
- Mechanical hardware experience
- Familiarity with packaging machinery, material handling, robotics, or fulfillment automation
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, or similar) for test automation
- Travel requirement: UP TO 75% anywhere in North America (rare to travel up to that much but could happen)

Fast-paced, ambiguous environments with changing priorities across Concept, Alpha, and Beta development phases
