Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated EHS professional with experience in safety and compliance associated with R&D and manufacturing of automation and robotic technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of regulations that govern Environmental, Health and Safety. The candidate will collaborate with product, manufacturing and deployment teams to develop and execute risk mitigations plans and support the scaling of deployments into production.
The position also collaborates with 3P suppliers and general contractors throughout projects to ensure compliance to the appropriate regulations, industry standards and Amazon policies.
Key job responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS standards, procedures, and launch playbooks for Amazon Robotics site activation programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with Amazon safety policies.
- Lead on-site safety assessments — evaluating fire protection, building infrastructure, life safety compliance, dock operations, and environmental conditions — and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Mentor and develop EHS professionals supporting site launch and operational safety programs — providing technical guidance, building team capability, and ensuring consistent execution of safety standards across projects.
- Own and continuously improve EHS procedures for assigned operational safety programs, ensuring alignment with Amazon standards and applicable regulations.
- Perform safety risk assessments and develop hazard mitigation strategies for contractor and vendor activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, and Security to integrate EHS requirements into site design, equipment procurement, and operational workflows.
- Advise site leadership and project owners on safety regulations, emergency preparedness, and incident response protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data, audit findings, and incident trends to identify gaps and implement scalable solutions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training content and compliance communications for stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 20% to multiple sites across various regions.
