The Contract Senior Income Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting corporate income tax compliance, tax provision preparation, and related tax reporting activities. This role prepares federal, state, and local income tax returns, assists with tax accounting processes, and supports tax audits and special projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of income tax regulations, and experience working in a corporate tax environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns and related work papers.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Calculate taxable income, estimated tax payments, and tax adjustments.
- Reconcile tax accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
- Support income tax audits and respond to requests from tax authorities.
- Research and analyze tax laws, regulations, and technical tax issues.
- Assist with tax planning initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and external advisors on tax-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Assist with special projects and other tax department responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of corporate income tax experience.
- Experience preparing federal and state income tax returns.
- Knowledge of ASC 740 and income tax accounting principles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
- Experience with corporate tax provision and compliance software.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
