Responsibilities
- Act as Scrum Master or Agile coach on more than one cross‑functional agile team.
- Build strong trust and work tightly with Engineering Leadership.
- Facilitate daily scrum and other ceremonies associated with chosen Agile methodology.
- Lead teams to self‑organization.
- Facilitate getting work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating.
- Constantly assess team and tweak application of Agile to increase efficiency and remove waste.
- Collaborate and partner with peer Agile Coaches to apply shared learnings to all teams.
- Create transparency by radiating information within the team and outside of the team.
- Manage a complex web of communication across a matrixed Agile team and organization (both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and various levels of leadership).
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Shield team from external disruptions.
- Own Agile‑related metrics like white on rice!
- Train teams and outside stakeholders in Agile practices.
- Work tightly with the product owner to ensure clarity of requirements and exit criteria.
- Zealot about Agile principles, not methodologies.

- First‑level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I).
- Deep and hands‑on knowledge of various Agile frameworks (Lean Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
- 3+ years playing active Scrum Master or coach role within development teams.
- Experience communicating and defending (and taking ownership for) performance metrics with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
- Have trained and converted teams who were not Agile to a successful and sustained Agile outcome.
- Demonstrated master‑level skill at one or more Agile tool suites (Rally, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Version One, etc.).
- Highly skilled at identifying and removing blockages within team.
- Familiar with and experienced serving software engineering teams.
- Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and industry trends (e.g. refactoring, architecture, Dev Ops, automation, CI/CD, telemetry, and so on…).
- PMP or ACP Cert preferred.
- Scrum Cert preferred.
- SA Cert preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Project knowledge of SDLC Rally.
