Senior Materials Manager – Westborough, Massachusetts
Job OverviewResponsible for end-to-end materials management and supply chain execution for a complex manufacturing operation. This critical onsite leadership position reports to the Plant Manager and is part of the Operations & Supply Chain organization.
What you will do- Own site-level materials strategy and execution, including master planning, MRP, inventory optimization, warehousing, and production material flow to enable safe, reliable, and cost‑effective manufacturing output.
- Lead and develop a high-performing materials organization, building strong succession plans and leadership pipelines across planning, purchasing, warehouse, and materials execution functions.
- Drive robust and scalable planning discipline by establishing and maintaining effective planning parameters in Oracle ERP to optimize inventory, turns, and working capital.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and Global Supply Chain to align demand, capacity, and supply through S&OP / IBP processes.
- Champion continuous improvement using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to improve material availability, supplier performance, takt alignment, and end‑to‑end flow while reducing variability and risk.
- Provide executive‑level insights and recommendations by translating material availability, capacity constraints, and inventory risk into clear options, trade‑offs, and data‑driven scenarios that inform site and network leadership decisions.
- Ensure Quality and EHS compliance, embedding safety, quality, and regulatory expectations into all materials processes and team objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of functional experience in materials management and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams across planning, purchasing, and warehouse operations.
- Advanced working knowledge of Oracle ERP, including planning parameters, MRP, and inventory controls.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong command of planning, inventory optimization, and capacity alignment concepts tied to S&OP / IBP.
- Ability to translate data into objective risk assessments, business trade‑offs, and strategic recommendations for senior leaders.
- Master’s degree (MBA, Supply Chain, or Operations).
- APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or Lean / Six Sigma certification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel occasionally to suppliers or other Cytiva manufacturing sites. Onsite role supporting a fast‑paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000. This salary range is based on the current market and may be adjusted in the future. The role also may be eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
