Job Summary

The Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the construction of homes in the assigned community(s) to ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards are met. Manages all construction activities for assigned homes, assists in the scheduling of homes, supervises trade partner’s work, maintains the overall community job sites for safety and appearance, and is responsible for the customer experience throughout the building process.

Requires onsite attendance 5 days per week at assigned jobsites in Westborough, Massachusetts and surrounding area.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities and evaluate the quality and efficiency of their work.
  • Review and request modifications to construction drawings when plan errors or conflicts arise.
  • Evaluate project schedules and update and determine appropriate modifications to reflect the project's needs to ensure timely completion.
  • Stop any work that is not satisfactory or noncompliant with plans, specifications, or applicable code.
  • Manage the customer experience throughout the entire construction process, including regular communications to keep them informed of progress, taking action, and negotiating solutions to address any concerns.
  • Interact with Community Sales personnel to manage community performance and customer activities.
  • Complete daily inspections to ensure job sites adhere to state, federal, and company safety and storm water pollution prevention plan standards.
  • Negotiate, create, and authorize field purchase orders for materials and labor resources as needed.
  • Inspect and determine whether trade partner workmanship and product quality are completed on time and within the defined scope of work.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development, Process Improvement, Resource Planning, and Purchasing teams to address areas of improvement on plan quality, schedule adherence, trade performance, and budgetary challenges.
  • Participate in trade partner recruiting and vetting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Ability to manage construction processes in a high-production environment.
  • Direct and manage trade performance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations, and building codes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related scheduling software.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Dedicated commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Control cost overruns and manage a budget.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2‑4 years of relevant experience and a university degree or equivalent experience.

Licensing, Registration and

Certifications:

Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, drive, and lift up to 80 pounds; climb ladders and scaffolding; work in various weather conditions.

Benefits

Annual salary: $88,000 – $129,300.

Eligible for a bonus of approximately $6,000 – $9,000 annually.

9 paid company holidays per year and up to 6 days of sick pay.

Paid time off: up to 17 PTO days per year for employees with less than 10 years of service; up to 22 PTO days per year for those with 10 or more years.
