Compensation: $22.50 per hour
The Logistics Team Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day‑to‑day logistics activities, ensuring efficient coordination, and driving continuous improvement within the logistics department.
Essential Functions- Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and motivation.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Oversee and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including shipping, receiving, and transportation.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse and distribution center operations for efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing holding costs.
- Implement effective inventory control measures, including regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement efficiency initiatives to enhance overall logistics performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on logistics performance.
- Implement corrective actions to address deviations from performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for shipments, inventory, and other logistics activities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a closely related field
- AND five (3) years of professional experience in logistics management
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Principles and practices of logistics management
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
- Business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.
- Principles and practices of financial/statistical analysis.
- Advanced principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
- Applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Computer applications and systems related to the work.
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio‑economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Planning, organizing, and administering assigned activities, programs, and projects.
- Preparing accurate financial and operational analyses.
- Interpreting, explaining, and applying principles and practices of budgeting, cost projection, revenue control, and modeling.
- Training others in policies and procedures related to the work.
- Leading effective work teams and motivating individuals to meet goals and objectives and provide customer services most cost‑effectively and efficiently.
- Interpreting, applying, and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials to various levels of the organization.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within established organizational and leadership guidelines.
- Using tact, discretion, and prudence in working with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the course of the work.
