Our client is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant who is looking to grow their career and gain hands‑on experience in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational accounting experience who wants exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, including month‑end close, payroll, and project support.
Key Responsibilities- Support the monthly close process, including
- Preparing journal entries
- Performing account reconciliations and resolving variances
- Assist with inventory and work‑in‑process (WIP) tracking and reconciliations
- Process payroll and handle related reporting
- Partner with project managers to support project setup and basic financial tracking
- Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting activities
- Participate in process improvements and system enhancements
- Provide support on ad hoc projects as needed
- Gain exposure to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (mid‑size company experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with payroll processing
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables)
- Exposure to an ERP system preferred
- Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus, but not required
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and learn
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable asking questions and learning new systems
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
- Desire for long‑term professional growth
This is a Permanent position based out of Westbrook, ME.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00/yr.
