Accounts Payable Specialist

Location:

Westbrook, ME

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reporting. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Process high-volume invoices, including coding, matching, and data entry

+ Perform 2-way and 3-way matching (purchase orders, invoices, receipts)

+ Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation

+ Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments

+ Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner

+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

+ Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and AP aging review

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

+ Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports

Qualifications

+ 1-3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Quick Books, or similar)

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry, reconciliations)

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with high-volume AP processing

+ Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
