CoWorx is seeking a Hybrid Staff Accountant in the Westbrook, Maine.
An industrial manufacturer is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is remote flexible with and offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions. It reports to the Accounting Manager and provides direct support to their CFO.
- Support the monthly close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist with inventory and work-in-process (WIP) tracking and reconciliations.
- Process payroll and prepare related reporting.
- Partner with project managers to support project setup and financial tracking activities.
- Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as needed.
- Provide ad-hoc support on accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (related fields are ok)
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Payroll processing experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus
