RSU 23 – Jameson Elementary School – Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Full-time position. Work with a team of providers to implement programming for students with intensive needs, primarily served in the special education setting.

• Citizenship, residency, or work visa.
• Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check.
• Maintains or is eligible for a Maine Department of Education Teaching Certificate (286 or 282 for PreK and K-8).

• Conduct academic evaluations and classroom observations.
• Fulfill case management duties, including paperwork and consultation with classroom teachers.
• Consult with team members to provide integrated programming.
• Complete progress monitoring of all students on a scheduled basis.
• Provide direct instruction in literacy, math, and daily living skills.
• Develop and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Supervise educational technicians.
• Work with students with autism and/or cognitive disabilities; support students in the use of AAC devices.
• Have knowledge of Chapter 101 regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
• Maintain excellent communication with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote student success.
• Understand and support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
• Take part in the school community outside of the classroom.
• Demonstrate exemplary time management and organizational skills.

• Maintains or is eligible for Maine Department of Education Teaching Certificate (286 or 282 PreK and K-8).
• Experience working with students with autism and/or cognitive disabilities.
• Experience supporting students in the use of AAC devices.
• Knowledge of Chapter 101 regulations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
• Interest in participation in school community outside classroom.
