Educational Technician III – Full-time, beginning the school year.
About the PositionThe Educational Technician III is an integral member of the instructional team, helping create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students. By building strong relationships with students and collaborating closely with instructors, the Technician supports student success through encouragement, guidance, and individualized assistance that promotes academic growth, career readiness, and personal responsibility.
Responsibilities- Assist instructors with classroom and laboratory activities.
- Support hands‑on learning experiences and reinforce concepts introduced during instruction.
- Help students stay engaged and productive throughout the learning process.
- Provide additional clarification, practice, or support to individual students or small groups as needed to meet academic and technical learning goals.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, lift and carry materials and equipment, and assist students during hands‑on projects.
- Work in a variety of learning environments, including indoor classroom and technical shop spaces, as well as outdoor construction and job sites in varying weather conditions.
- Assist with classroom organization and management.
- Support student participation and collaboration.
- Monitor student progress and provide coverage when the instructor is unavailable.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment, contributing to a culture of high expectations, student achievement, and workforce readiness.
Because this position primarily supports students in the Building Trades and Electrical programs, candidates should possess a working knowledge of construction‑related mathematics, including measurement, fractions, area, volume, and basic geometry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate basic carpentry skills, familiarity with common hand and power tools and safety procedures, or have a willingness to learn alongside students and instructors. Candidates should also showcase practical problem‑solving skills, patience, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a genuine commitment to helping students build confidence, independence, problem‑solving abilities, and workplace readiness.
