Assistant Principal at Westbrook High School

Join the dynamic team at Westbrook High School as an Assistant Principal and help shape a school community dedicated to ensuring The Best Education for All, for Life. As a building leader, the Assistant Principal will collaborate closely with the Principal and other Assistant Principal as well as the athletic administrator, teacher leaders, staff, students, families, district leaders, and community partners to support the success and well-being of every learner.

Responsibilities will include:
Engaging in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to increase rigor and ensure student success Supporting district and school wide initiatives to increase student success Promoting inclusive environments and multiple pathways which meet the needs of all learners across our diverse school community Leading and supporting school-wide systems for student achievement, behavior, attendance, and social-emotional learning with accountability through restorative and relationship-centered practices.

Assisting with the supervision, coaching, and evaluation of staff to foster professional growth and continuous improvement. Strengthening family and community partnerships through proactive communication, engagement opportunities, and meaningful collaboration. Supporting school safety systems that create safe, structured, and supportive learning environments. Assisting with building operations, scheduling, and daily management responsibilities to ensure the effective functioning of the school. Collaborating with school administrative and teacher leaders, all teachers and support staff, and district and building leaders to enhance a continuum of learning and social development, smooth transitions, and increased community pride in our high school and our students.

Qualifications:

Maine Certification 045 (Assistant Building Administrator) or eligibility for certification. A minimum of five years of successful teaching and teacher leader experience; administrative experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, student support systems, and collaborative problem-solving. Experience facilitating professional learning and supporting staff growth is highly desirable.
