K-4 Steam Teacher
The Westbrook School Department is looking for a caring, dedicated, innovative and engaging K-4 STEAM teacher for our diverse and culturally rich students. This position will be split between two schools - Canal and Congin. A K-4 STEAM Teacher will provide direct instruction in science, technology, engineering, art, and math utilizing a hands-on experience based learning environment with whole class instruction and targeted small group instruction.
Students will have STEAM class once a week for 45 minutes. Strong classroom management practices and commitment to building and maintaining relationships with our students is a must to ensure our students are cared about and their social, emotional, and academic growth is paramount. We are looking for a collaborative and energetic person to add to our school communities.
Canal School is a small neighborhood school serving students PreK - 4th grade. Canal believes in working collaboratively with families and the community to support all our students. Strong relationships within our school community and with community partnerships enable us to foster academic growth while supporting social, emotional, and basic needs. We customize our instructional practices to best support our population through the inclusion of Title 1, Multi Lingual, Special Education, Alternative Learning, Gifted and Talented, and counseling services in our family atmosphere.
