The company has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager and an Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our Westbrook, Maine team.

Walsh Engineering & Associates has an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer Project Manager to provide engineering solutions and project management to our diverse and varying clients. The ideal candidate is experienced in managing the planning, design, permitting, site development, and construction phases.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive and coordinate civil engineering projects ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Partner with staff and outside consultants to drive projects to completion.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
  • Research project and makes recommendations regarding the scope and criteria.
  • Develop and review plans and specifications.
  • Prepare design cost estimates, fee proposals, and submissions.
  • Complete site layout, utility and grading plans, storm water analyses and reports, and site development permits.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing demands and priorities.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities including presenting to local permitting authorities (i.e. planning board and staff review committee meetings).
  • Evaluate and inspect site construction activities.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Consistently provide status and updates.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of site/civil engineering experience
  • 5+ years’ experience managing projects of varying scope
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, EIT or PE
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of storm drainage calculations and modeling and hydrology software (Hydro

    CAD preferred)
  • Experience with site design and permitting; grading, drainage, and erosion; and storm water and wastewater.
  • Understanding of local and state permitting including experience with the Maine DEP, stormwater, Site Location of Development, NRPA, as well as local site plan and subdivision permitting is beneficial.
