Paid Summer Engineering Internship – Launch Your Career in Medical Device Manufacturing

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment Length: 10–12 weeks

We are hiring Paid Summer Engineering Interns for our client, a leader in medical device manufacturing in Westbrook. These positions provide hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment and are paid. The internship is approximately 10–12 weeks long and focuses on facilities and utility equipment within GMP and cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities
  • Support facilities operations, run automation systems, and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Create and update training materials, SOPs, and technical documents.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve processes and resolve issues.
  • Assist with retraining technicians and ensuring adherence to procedures and quality standards.
  • Leverage Lean methodologies to drive process improvements and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and materials, escalating findings as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Biochemical, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Strong AutoCAD proficiency and mechanical/electrical aptitude with hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to follow and communicate technical instructions clearly.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in manufacturing or regulated environments such as GMP, FDA, ISO 13485.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
