Migis Hotel Group, a nimble, creative

Maine-based hospitality management services company, has an opening for a Hotel Area Manager to oversee several hotels in our portfolio which are located in Midcoast Maine. This is a hybrid position, which can be performed remotely,with travel to Midcoast Maine required at contractually obligated times, and attimes of onboarding new clients, heavily.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hotel Area Manager is responsible for delivering hotel management services to owner clients, driving strong operational and financial performance at each hotel while also protecting the profitability of the management relationship for MHG.This requires balancing multiple priorities to ensure each management relationship remains productive and profitable for MHG.

Serving as a key liaison between MHG, hotel leadership and ownership, the Hotel Area Manager monitors performance,identifies risks and opportunities, and provides guidance, training, and accountability to drive strong results.

This rolealso supports the evaluation of new clients, and importantly, the onboarding ofnew clients, developing resources required to deliver services profitably,perform due diligence, financial forecasting, and manage hotel management transitions, including the adoption of new systems and platforms. The person inthis role must be a quick learner and strong process builder, able to quickly understand new client needs and create practical tools, workflows, and resources to support effective transitions.

Success in this position requires strong financial judgment, disciplined time management, excellent communication skillsand the ability to balance service delivery across existing clients,prospective clients, and new hotel transitions in a way that supports both client success and a profitable management relationship for MHG.

SUMMARY OF

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure each client relationship supports strong hotel performance while remaining profitable, productive, and sustainable for MHG.
  • Translate annual financial goals into practical operating plans for each hotel.
  • Oversee,coach, develop, and hold General Managers accountable for property performance.
  • Lead property-level financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, expense control, and profitability.
  • Train General Managers on workforce planning, employee programs, compliance, facilities maintenance, capital planning, and risk management.
  • Review monthly operating results, identify variances, and ensure appropriate corrective action.
  • Monitor guest experience, service standards, operational compliance, staffing efficiency, and property performance.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between MHG and property ownership.
  • Communicate results, challenges, opportunities, and recommendations clearly to ownership and MHG leadership.
  • Support newclient evaluation, onboarding, property transitions, and stabilization.
  • Support the performance of food and beverage and other outlets, where applicable, including labor, pricing, service standards, and profitability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Significant hotel, resort, or hospitality operations leadership experience.
  • Prior General Manager experience is required.
  • Prior Area Manager, Regional Operations Manager or comparable above-property leadership experience required.

  • Clear,professional communication with owners, executives, property teams, and internal support departments.
  • Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and move priorities forward.
  • Collaborative,adaptable leadership style with a focus on service, performance, and sustainable client relationships.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
  • Must be atleast 18 years of age
  • Must be ableto work at a computer for long periods of time
