Systems Engineer
Overview
The Systems Engineer is responsible for leading, designing, implementing, and delivering complex IT infrastructure projects for Sym Quest clients. This role serves as a technical authority, providing engineering expertise, solution design, project execution, and support across networking, server, virtualization, cloud, and security technologies. They support presales design efforts, enforce best practices, and ensure delivery quality that aligns with Sym Quest’s client centric philosophy.
Responsibilities- Lead and deliver IT infrastructure projects with high levels of quality, performance, and security
- Provide advanced design, implementation, and troubleshooting across on-prem and cloud environments
- Provide presales technical consultation and solution architecture support
- Ensure documentation accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
- Collaborating with Project Managers and Coordinators to ensure scope, schedule, and deliverables remain on track
- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain technical knowledge
- Associate s or Bachelor s degree (AS or BS/BA) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of field experience in network engineering or related roles
- Strong experience delivering network services including design, implementation, and support
- Working knowledge of:
- Network operating systems and platforms from Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Symantec, and similar vendors
- Enterprise hardware solutions from HP, Dell, Cisco, and comparable manufacturers
- Proven ability to manage priorities and work independently across multiple projects
- Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills
- Vendor certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience supporting complex client environments in a professional services or consulting capacity
- Familiarity with presales engineering or customer solution design engagements
