Supervisory Supply Management Specialist

Summary

This is a supervisory supply management specialist position.

• Conduct surveys and studies of material management operations.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance on a supply program.
• Participate in production group meetings with representatives from all supply chain processes.
• Serve as a customer advocate for coordination of material issues involving adverse customer impact.
• Direct the performance of administrative and analytical supply work involving supply operations, inventory management, and storage and distribution of essential items.
• Obtain material ordering, material management, and procurement performance statistics from Material Access Technology (MAT), Material Requirements (MRQT), and/or other logistics management systems.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Tour of Duty: 1st Shift, Mon‑Fri, 0630‑1500.
• Security Requirements:

• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑11 level, or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
• Experience must demonstrate the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Plan initiatives that may impact supply operations.
• Use Federal and commercial supply and inventory systems in the most cost‑effective manner.
• Direct ordering and expediting service based on rapidly changing customer priorities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, is credited.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
