Westbrook, Maine
We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented QA Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is essential in ensuring that all products meet strict food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing environment and is confident communicating quality expectations to production operators.
Responsibilities- Perform sensory and analytical testing on ingredients and finished products
- Conduct line audits, verify production paperwork, and monitor production activities
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, HACCP, and internal quality programs
- Maintain product control systems and sample retention
- Support product hold and release processes
- Enter data into Excel and TGI; verify standards and calibrate lab equipment
- Organize samples for outside laboratory testing
- Verify accuracy of reprinted labels
- Communicate quality issues clearly and professionally to operators
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry preferred - 1–3 years of experience in food manufacturing, QA, or operations preferred
- Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, allergens, sanitation, and GMPs
- Comfortable enforcing quality standards and stopping operators when necessary
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Occasional exposure to warehouse and manufacturing environments
- Extended periods working at a computer
