It’s a rare survivor from the Civil War reunion era, and a unique piece of American history. Today, the building houses the Fifth Maine Museum, telling two related stories through objects, artifacts and exhibits, of the Fifth Maine Civil War regiment and the history of Peaks Island from its early settlement, to its days as the "Coney Island of Maine," and its role during World War II and beyond.
