Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is seeking a Psychiatric RN for a day shift travel contract on an adolescent inpatient unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience in acute adult mental health settings.

Job Details

• Inpatient psychiatric setting within a dedicated Psychiatric ICU,

• Unit serves adolescent patients with conditions including thought disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, and mania,

• 6-bed Psychiatric ICU unit,

• Patient ratio of 3:5,

• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM,

• 36 hours per week with weekend hours required,

• No on-call requirements,

• Floating between facilities may be required within a 25-mile radius,

• 10-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active ME RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of experience in acute adult mental health or psychiatric nursing,

• Proficiency in de-escalation techniques required,

• Valid Driver's License required for consideration,

• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

• 2 professional references required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide psychiatric nursing care to patients with complex mental health diagnoses including psychosis and personality disorders,

• Candidates who reside within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) will be considered local and are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions,

• Business casual dress code required; no ripped jeans, shorts, logo t-shirts or sweatshirts, or open-toed shoes,

• Use of Air Pods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited,

• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position,
