Lead Carpenter​/Site Supervisor

O’Brien Wood & Iron is a full-service building company specializing in new construction, additions, remodels, restorations, and custom woodworking. Based in Portland, Maine, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality craftsmanship with exceptional customer service and attention to detail. We are currently looking for a Lead Carpenter/Site Supervisor to join our growing team.

The right candidate will have:

6 years (minimum) of experience in custom residential construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

expert knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and general construction techniques

strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with clients, crew members, and subcontractors

ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive jobsite culture

excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

reliable, construction-appropriate transportation

Compensation

This is a full-time position (35-40 hours per week) offering:

Competitive Pay:
Commensurate with experience

Paid Time-Off:
Up to 80 hours in the first year, increasing with tenure

8 Paid Holidays (plus 4 additional days between Christmas and New Year’s):
New Year’s Day, MLK, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving + Friday after, Christmas
