Responsibilities
- Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Responds to basic warranty calls and provides high‑level service to solve building inefficiencies.
- Loads system‑level controller software and performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators.
- Calibrates systems using basic electronic test equipment and documents all commissioning activities.
- Keeps management, JCI contractor, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Completes administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Communicates with contractors and customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follows all safety standards, attends required safety training, and promotes a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provides recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities and supporting quotes.
- Vocational school, four‑year program, or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
- Three years of industry experience or at least one year of experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally to customers and contacts.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC‑related software.
Hourly rate: $24–31 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities). The position includes a competitive benefits package.
