Sysco is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician II to keep our distribution fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this role, you'll diagnose and repair diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units, perform preventative maintenance, and complete DOT-compliant inspections. You'll use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues while maintaining accurate service records. Working in a safety-driven, team-focused environment, you'll support our critical food service supply chain and gain training, stability, and opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services per schedule
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools
- Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate repair records and work orders in maintenance systems
- Collaborate with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime
- Order and track parts and materials needed for fleet repairs
- Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and PPE requirements
- Support on-call or emergency repairs as needed
- Mentor junior technicians and support continuous improvement initiatives
