Night Yard Spotter - Requires Double and Triple Edorsement.
Pay Rate: $32.91 – Sunday through Thursday work schedule.
Job SummaryThis operations position is responsible for moving trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading activities.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with loaders and supervisors to move trucks and trailers from one location to another according to door assignments.
- Check that each unit is sealed and that the refrigeration unit is operating correctly and running.
- Move trucks and trailers from dock to dock as needed to complete the loading process, which includes dropping and hooking trailers.
- Ensure the trailer or truck is completely loaded and secured before moving from the dock area.
- Work with transportation management to ensure the proper equipment is used on the proper route.
- Work closely with fleet shop management to ensure any repairs are finished before using the equipment.
- Help keep truck parking yard free of debris and trash.
- Arrange trucks and trailers on the yard in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Move trucks and trailers for receiving when needed.
- Record start‑up time and reefer set points for pre‑cooling purposes.
- Ensure trailer doors are closed while not in the dock.
- Check oil and fluid levels.
- Fuel trucks and trailers.
- Wash out trailers.
- Check lights, hoses, and tires.
- Less than high school education.
- 1 year of warehouse or transportation experience preferred.
- Truck backing experience preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Pallet jack and forklift certification from Sysco (can be obtained once hired).
- Able to communicate efficiently with others in a proficient manner.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
